How to delete temporary files or unwanted data in Windows 10 OS (Operating System)
The Windows Temp file, as the name implies, is a temporary file created by a specific program when used on your Windows 10 device 0r Computer or Laptop. These files can add up quickly and consume valuable storage space, so you may want to delete them.

1. Use Disk Cleanup
Disk Cleanup is a Windows 10 OS program that lets you quickly delete files that you no longer need, including temp files. To start Disk Cleanup in Windows OS, Press Windows Key + R or type "Disk Cleanup" in the Windows search bar and then click the "Disk Cleanup" app in the search results.

The Disk Cleanup (C :) window for Windows will open. Check the box next to the type of temporary file you want to delete, and then click "OK".
Select the file to delete and then click Clean Up System File.
A pop-up message will appear confirming that you want to delete a selected file. Click on "Delete File".
The system will then start deleting the selected temp file.
You can delete the temp file from the settings app. First open the settings by clicking on the windows icon in the lower-left corner of the desktop to open the start menu and then click on the gear icon. Alternatively, press Windows + i.
The Settings window will open. Here, click the "System" option.
Click System.
Next, click "Storage" on the left panel.
Then on the next screen, Just click "Temporary Files" under the Windows (C :) group.
Click on temporary files.
A list of what your system considers temporary files or data will be appear. Check the box next to the files you want to delete, and then click "Remove Files".
Check the files you want to remove and then click Remove Files.
Windows 10 OS will now start deleting temp files.
3. Manually delete temp files
If you prefer to work the old way, you can delete the temp files manually in File Explorer. But instead of digging multiple layers of the folder by trying to find the Temp folder, you can use a shortcut. First press Windows Key + R to open the Run app. Once opened, type % temp% and %temps% in the text box and then click "OK" or press Enter.
Open the Temp folder in File Explorer. Select the files you want to delete. You can quickly select all the files by pressing Ctrl + A. Selected files are highlighted in blue.
Press Ctrl + A to select all the temp files.
Next, right-click on any selected files or data. In the context menu that appears, just click "Delete".
Windows will start deleting the selected temp files and data.
